Thanks for reporting this issue. We should hopefully publish a fix for this within the next few days.
A fix for this issue has now been published.
I checked that right after the fix you mentioned and it was OK but I tried to do it today and …
if there is a tag server configured OnshapeSync never finishes
I left it for over one hour and it’s stuck on this screen.
When I remove the tag server sync is done in just few seconds….
One more thing is that once model is imported, next sync updates geometry but not the color if something was changed in Onshape:
but in ProtoTwin green part is still blue
I was able to discover an issue when syncing resulted in an entity being removed, and bindings were previously created for components on that entity. I’ve published a fix for this.
However, I’m doubtful that this is the same problem you are experiencing, since, for me, the sync succeeded but an error would occur when opening the IO browser.
If the issue isn’t resolved, could you please provide the model that you’re attempting to sync? If the model can’t be shared publicly, you can email it to contact@prototwin.com.
Additionally, I’ll need access to the CAD on Onshape. To do this, you need to open your Onshape document and click the share button in the top-right of Onshape.
Then enter contact@prototwin.com as the email to share the document with.
This should allow me to reproduce the issue.
For the issue with the materials, can you try uncheck/disable the Retain Materials option when syncing. When Retain Materials is enabled, ProtoTwin will retain whatever materials are set in ProtoTwin, and ignore any material changes you made in Onshape.
Yes, “Retain Materials” did the trick.
A fix for the crash when performing a CAD Sync with unbound tags has been published.
